My second in the Rush Hour Song series. There are two great things about this song: 1. It makes you dance. Even if you’re sitting in traffic. 2. There’s a verse that comes out of nowhere about having to eat your friend’s mom’s food that you don’t like. You don’t like it so much that you have to go to the drugstore and buy Kaopectate. Then it’s back to dancing.

I had an idea today while I was driving in the Los Angeles rush hour traffic and using the scan feature on my car radio. I have gotten really into the scan feature recently because I find myself falling in love with songs I’ve never paid attention to before. So here’s the idea: I’ll post whichever song is my brand new crush song of the day on my blog. Today I heard the Judy Collins version of Leonard Cohen’s Suzanne. I hadn’t realized how absolutely gorgeous her voice is. I couldn’t find a video of her singing it solo, so here’s a live performance of the two of them from 1976. The way the emotion plays on her face is killer.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This may be my favorite YouTube video ever. I call it a “YouTube video,” but it has, in fact, mysteriously disappeared from YouTube! With the luck o’ the Irish, however, I tracked it down. Enjoy.

So, I’m starting a blog to share stuff I make, stuff I love, and assorted odds and ends. Hello world!

This is a video my little LA comedy video group made. Rachel wrote this one, Jeff directed it, and the super-talented (not to mention comedy royalty) Rob Belushi guest stars!

Not only am I starting a blog this weekend, I’m also jumping on stage with my improv group “Flash Garden” for the first time! Gulp. Tomorrow (Sunday), 10pm at the Neon Venus Art Theatre in Hollywood. $7 cover.
